Hi Shannon,
Am in the same boat. Have just finished the attack phase and will be drinking (in relative moderation!) vodka and soda at the weekends. I can't see this being extremely detrimental just maybe slowing the results a little. There needs to be a balance in everything in life in if weight obsession takes over completely at the expense of social fun then it's not a good thing.

Good luck

Hey guys I've just started and I've read most of the book. With food there are ways of mixin it up. Buy more spices to add to your meat. Mix it up a bit make an omlete with egg, sliced ham garlic seasoning chilli powder and mixed herbs... Mix up an egg with your oat bran and minced meat and all your spices again roll them up and fry them for meat balls... You can make oat bran pancakes the recipe is in the book... Now with alcohol I am unsure the book only makes mention of wine really... Wat about spirits with diet coke? Surely that can't be too bad??? The diet is great but only being 22 I find it hard not to drink in social situations!!!! Helllllp! Shan

Hiya,

I'd like to echo nykee's comment above, sounds like a familiar question! I bought oat bran in Holland and Barrett so that's covered. But I'm sick of diet coke/pepsi etc after four days, would much rather drink some kind of squash. Also, any links to decent recipe ideas would be a great help, much as I like steak and chicken breasts and yoghurt with mustard it's getting boring...........

Hi, I just started this diet 4 days ago. I lost 3 lbs so far. I don't really understand the oat part. Am I allowed porridge with skimmed milk because I have had that 2 days in a row for breakfast. Is that ok? Also am I allowed a glass of orange squash, low sugar one with water? Surely thats better then diet coke? I have searched everywhere for a list of meat I can have as I dont eat fish. At the moment I am eating chicken breast and steak everyday for lunch and dinner. with a boiled egg. any suggestions. thanks in advance for anyone who helps me :)

Hi 21 shela go to amazon - have just received my book from them £8.95. However, if you search there is an really really good website called the "Dukan Diet" programme. Its really useful and sets out all the criteria for each phase. You don't really need the book unless you want the recipes, and I have both!

I have been on the Dukan diet since 4th Jan. I was 85 Kg when I started and as of today am 81, so 4 Kg down. While on the diet I have stopped the heavy workouts in the gym. Only light run on the threadmill for about 15 min a day.

I have a friend on this who has done very well. He mentioned a type of possibly wheat germ or oat germ? Can someone tell me exactly what to use in English since that was somewhat unclear and how often?

Eat as much as you want is relative.

This is a ultra-high protein food diet. Very few calories in protein foods. No sugars, no carbs, no alcohol - at least in the weight loss phases.

A few days in, and you stomach obviously shrinks as you are not hungry between meals and you eat very reasonable portions. Between meals you can snack on chicken ham slices or lean surami for example.

I started at 135.8 Kg and have now lost 14.7 Kg on day 45. I am aiming to get down to 85.5 Kg or thereabouts and I should get there at the beginning of July 2010 if things go as they have been.

I have a few links to English sites on my blog and I'll put up some recipes over the next few weeks.
